Dear Evergreen Families,
A heartfelt thank you to all of our students, families, and staff for helping make Ms. Broomfield feel so special on her birthday. She was genuinely touched by the thoughtful messages, kind wishes, and generous gestures from our school community. Your kindness made her day truly memorable, and it is a birthday she will cherish for years to come.
Our students in our EES program had the exciting opportunity this past week to participate in an adaptive biking residency with Youth en Route. Through the program, students explored bike riding using a fleet of specialized tricycles designed to support a wide range of abilities and sizes. With individualized support, students built confidence while developing important skills such as following directions, strengthening gross motor abilities, and enhancing spatial awareness.
The residency provided meaningful, hands-on learning experiences and created opportunities for success, independence, and joy. It was wonderful to see students challenge themselves, celebrate accomplishments, and experience the freedom and fun of riding. Thank you to Youth en Route for bringing this engaging and inclusive program to Evergreen School.
Our School Council never fails to make our staff feel valued - especially in June! On Thursday, our staff were surprised with a colourful spread of rainbow-themed treats and thoughtful goodie bags filled with sweet and savoury snacks. Thank you for your kindness and generosity!
5UPDATES AND INFORMATION
Register for Bussing: Only 68 of a possible 174 bus-eligible students have registered for budding for next school yar. This is a 39% registration rate.
Bus allocation for your school will be reduced for the 2026/27 school year, in keeping with the current registration rate.
We encourage families who wish to access transportation next year to register by the June 14th deadline to be included in our transportation planning. Registrations received after the deadline are not guaranteed to have a bus stop assigned to them for the first day of school and may have a 6-8 week wait before they are assigned to a bus stop.
Registration is available through your MyCBE account. (If you do not already have an account, learn how.)
Confirmed routes will be posted in MyCBE in August. More information about fees can be found on our website.
Baking Volunteers Needed: To thank Evergreen Staff for the end of the year, School Council is inviting parents to donate homemade treats for our staff appreciation table. Your generosity will help us thank our wonderful staff as we break for summer. To contribute click the link below:

Students will be treated to a delicious pancake breakfast and a morning filled with western fun, community spirit, and special guests. Students will have the opportunity to participate in engaging activities provided by the SAM Centre, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to celebrating and preserving western heritage, cultures, and community spirit. Activities will include traditional western games such as lasso tossing, horseshoes, and a hobby horse obstacle course. Please note that gluten-free breakfast options will not be available at the pancake breakfast. If your child requires a gluten-free meal, we kindly ask that they bring an appropriate breakfast from home so they can fully participate in the celebration.
