Dear Evergreen Families,

During the Thanksgiving season, when we traditionally take time to give thanks, we wanted to express our personal gratitude.

Thank you to you, our families, for having faith in Evergreen School and for entrusting us with your children. Your children come with strong values, respect, inclusivity, and appreciation. Thank you for your commitment to ensuring our collective success. 

Thank you to our AMAZING School Council and Parent Society who made out teachers feel so special this World Teacher’s Day with very generous gift cards to Amazon to be able to purchase supplies for their classrooms.  Tears of appreciation flowed! Thanks also to our Evergreen staff for their commitment to the students and families of Evergreen School every day.

UPDATES AND INFORMATION

Student Learning Conferences: Conferences are coming up on Thursday, October 19th between 4:00pm and 8:00pm and Friday, October 20th, between 8:00am and 12:00pm.  This will be an opportunity for you to meet with your child’s homeroom teacher to discuss their progress in learning at this time.  Conferences are booked through your MyCBE Account.  Booking opens on Tuesday, October 10th at 4:00pm.

How to Book a School Conference

1. Log-in to MyCBE.  If you do not have an account, follow the Create a MyCBE Account instructions.
2. Click on the My School Conferences icon.
3. Click on the time slot that is available and convenient for you. Ensure pop-up windows are allowed.
4. In the pop-up window, you will choose your child (you have the option to enter the student's name), the name of the parent / guardian is pre-filled, but can also be changed.

Evergreen Swag/Apparel: is now available for purchase through your Healthy Hunger account.  The order deadline is November 3rd, 2023.  New this year is apparel for Pink Shirt Day.  Don’t forget to check out the super soft hoodies and awesome baseball caps - great for keeping the sun out of your eyes on hot summer days!

 

Attendance: It is important that you call the school if your child is going to be absent or arriving late.  If we do not receive a call, we will contact you through school messenger (phone and email) to confirm your child is away. This process ensures our students’ safety.  Typically, these calls go out by 9:30am and 1:30pm.

We appreciate you letting your child’s teacher know, however, in case of staff absences we ask that you please email the school at evergreenattendance@cbe.ab.ca or call the school attendance line at (403) 777-6288 ext. 1 before 8:30 AM.

Please insure to report all of the following information:

• student’s name, including the spelling of your child’s last name,
• homeroom,
• the date or dates
• reason for the absence

Volunteer Opportunities:

• Conferences POTLuck: Prepare a dish to feed our amazing teachers the night of student learning conferences. Volunteer clearance is not required.
