Evergreen Weekly for November 13th

Dear Evergreen Families,

Thank you to our Grade 3 team who led us in our Remembrance Day assembly. We took time as a school community to honour the courage and sacrifice of those who served and continue to serve in an effort to preserve the freedoms that we all enjoy. Let their bravery inspire us to continue to work towards a world of peace and understanding.

UPDATES AND INFORMATION

Metis Week: The Métis people have a unique history, culture and language. They are Otimpemisiwak, "the people that own themselves". Métis people continue to stand strong behind their heritage, preserving the stories, traditions, and ways of life that distinguish the Métis from other Indigenous groups within Canada. During Métis Week  (November 13th – 19th) our school community will come together to honour the rich cultural heritage, contributions and resilience of the Métis people and to celebrate Métis ways of being, belonging, doing and knowing through the Indigenous Education Holistic Lifelong Learning Framework and Evergreen’s School’s Commitment to Truth and Reconciliation.
