Commitment to Truth and Reconciliation

On Thursday, we gathered as a school community for an Orange Shirt Day assembly hosted by our grade 4 students and teachers. Orange Shirt Day is important because it raises awareness about the historical and ongoing impact of residential schools on Indigenous communities in Canada.  Students and staff wore orange shirts as a symbol of solidarity and a commitment to honour the survivors and remember the victims of residential schools. Students have been and will continue to learn about the experiences of Indigenous peoples to promote reconciliation and foster a sense of empathy and understanding.   Please find linked our Commitment to Truth and Reconciliation.
