Dear Evergreen Families,
As we head into this well-deserved March Break, I just wanted to take a moment to send my warmest wishes to you and your family. It’s been a busy and exciting time here at Evergreen, and I couldn’t be prouder of our students and staff—or more thankful for your ongoing support.
I hope you found the recent student learning conferences helpful in understanding how your child is doing, and how we’re working together to support their growth. Every time I visit classrooms, I’m inspired by how confidently students take charge of their learning—whether it’s leading discussions, reflecting on their progress, or proudly sharing their work. Thank you to everyone who took part in conferences—your involvement truly makes a difference.
Beyond the classroom, students have been exploring all kinds of engaging and meaningful learning experiences. They’ve been learning about robotics and building their problem-solving and tech skills, developing teamwork and perseverance through our tennis program, and tapping into their creativity during the Loose Parts Residency. We’ve also enjoyed some incredible performances, like the Evergreen Theatre and the laugh-out-loud Nutty Squirrel Opera, and students have taken part in field trips that brought their learning to life. Our older students also participated in social media workshops to help them build safe and thoughtful online habits. Our dedicated teachers and staff have engaged in continuous learning to refine their teaching practices. We’re also so grateful to our families who’ve volunteered, joined us for School Council meetings, and shared their voices through school engagement opportunities. We are so grateful for the support of our Evergreen School Council and Parent Advisory Council. Your partnership plays a huge role in shaping our school community.
Looking ahead, I’m excited for everything the rest of the school year has in store. I hope this break gives you a chance to slow down, relax, and enjoy some special time together.
Wishing you a joyful, restful, and fun-filled March Break! Keep an eye out for the Evergreen Weekly on Sunday, March 30th—students will be back in class on Monday, March 31st.
Take care,
Angela McPhee
