Dear Evergreen Families,
A heartfelt thank you to our incredible Grade 1 teaching team—Mrs. Webber, Mrs. Byciuk, Mrs. Gullion, Mrs. Dalke, and Ms. Sousa—and, of course, to our amazing grade 1 students for leading us in a beautiful assembly focused on the power of kindness.
Inspired by The Kindness Book by Todd Parr, the students shared so many meaningful ways we can show kindness to others. Whether it's simply listening, offering help, or saying sorry when we make a mistake, they reminded us that we always have the choice to be kind, no matter the situation. See their heartfelt letter to the community below.
The grade 1 students also brightened our day by singing a song about positive affirmations: "I am kind! I am strong! I am important!" They believe that by embracing these words, we can create a more positive and supportive environment at our school.
It was truly heartwarming to see so many students and staff wearing pink to show their commitment to solidarity and inclusivity. We were so glad to have many Grade 1 families join us in support of their children. It was a beautiful celebration of kindness.
Yours in kindness,
Angela McPhee
