Grade 5 students transported us through time with their dynamic and entertaining spring concert, set in the imaginative Museum of Music. The audience was taken on a tour through musical eras that have shaped generations, from the groove of disco and the energy of rock, to the catchy beats of pop and the iconic sounds of video games.

We Will Rock You by Queen highlighted students’ musical talents on a number of instruments including the keyboard, electric guitar, drums and xylophones.  Funkytown by Lipps brought out the inner disco in each of us and the instantly recognizable Super Mario Medley by MayTree, showcased students understanding of rhythm and beat under blue lights.  Sunday Best by Surface had us all feeling good.

The grade 5 students’ confidence and clever narration shared not only their musical talents but also their understanding of how music connects us. Thank you to Ms. Yu, Mr. Chameroy, Mrs. Roworth, Ms. Byrne and Ms. Sousa for guiding this creative project and helping our students shine.
