Dear Evergreen Families,
Your messages of kindness and support boosted our morale as we returned this past Wednesday. While the circumstances surrounding our return were disappointing, teachers unanimously expressed how wonderful it was to be back with our students.
As we transition back to school from the strike we will be focusing primarily on teaching and learning in classrooms. Activities and events such as performances, field trips and other school events may be delayed, rescheduled or cancelled. We have made the decision to cancel the assembly portion of our Remembrance Day activities scheduled for November 7th, 2025. Please know that this decision does not in any way diminish the importance of Remembrance Day or our shared commitment to honouring the service and sacrifice of Canada’s veterans and active members of the Armed Forces.
Meaningful learning and remembrance will continue within our classrooms, as students engage in age-appropriate discussions and activities to reflect on the significance of this important day. Together, we will continue to ensure that the values of peace, gratitude, and remembrance remain at the heart of our school community.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support as we transition back from the strike and work to re-establish routines and learning with our students.
Our halls were filled with spooky smiles and creative costumes on Friday! Students and staff showed off their eerie imagination through both their outfits and some delightfully chilling learning activities. See below for some highlights.
