Dear Evergreen Families,

Throughout January, students in EES have been exploring shapes in math building their understanding of both 2D (flat) shapes, such as circles, squares, triangles, and rectangles and 3D (solid) shapes like spheres, cubes, cones, and cylinders. Learning began with 2D shapes and gradually expanded to 3D shapes, helping students compare, sort, and match shapes while discovering how they appear in the world around us. Through engaging activities such as songs, SmartBoard games, hands-on matching, and real-world examples, students learned that shapes have meaning and purpose in their environment.
