Evergreen Weekly February 12th 2024

Dear Evergreen Families,

Students were busy self- and peer-assessing their work in classrooms this week.

Self-assessment involves students evaluating their own work or progress against learning goals and success criteria. It encourages students to reflect on their strengths and set goals for improvement.

Peer assessment involves students providing feedback to their classmates based on learning goals and success criteria. It promotes collaboration, communication and critical and analytical thinking skills as students evaluate their classmate's performance.

Both self-assessment and peer-assessment encourage students to reflect on their work and provide feedback to one another allowing them to take ownership of their progress and learning.

UPDATES AND INFORMATION

Valentines: If your child is planning to write Valentines this year, we ask that they include all students in their class.  Classroom teachers will provide time for students to hand out Valentines on Wednesday, February 14th.  Valentines with pre-wrapped, store-bought candies will be permitted to be passed out.  We ask that families with students with allergies assess anything brought home for their child.

Due to allergies, students will not be allowed to pass out any candies/food items made from scratch at home. Classroom teachers will follow up with families regarding name lists.
