Dear Evergreen Families,
Our students recently had the opportunity to showcase their creativity and school pride through our Yearbook Illustrated Cover Contest! Students were invited to design a front cover that captured what makes Evergreen such an amazing school.
Each student created an original illustration representing their experience at Evergreen, highlighting things like friendship, learning, community, school spirit, and the activities that make our school special.
After completing their designs, each class voted on one illustration to represent their homeroom in the school-wide contest. These selected entries were then shared with the entire school, and students have been voting to choose the winning design that will appear on this year’s yearbook cover.
We are incredibly proud of the creativity, thoughtfulness, and artistic talent our students demonstrated in their submissions. Thank you to all the students who participated and to the classes who helped select their homeroom representatives.
Please take a look at the amazing homeroom entries below!
UPDATES AND INFORMATION
Celebrating Education Week at Evergreen: Next week, schools across the province, including ours, will celebrate Education Week, a special time to recognize the incredible people and partnerships that make learning possible. Celebrated across Alberta each April, Education Week highlights the power of learning and the way teachers, students, families, volunteers, and school staff work together to create communities where children thrive.
At Evergreen, we see this collaboration in action every day. Our classrooms are filled with curiosity, creativity, and connection as students explore new ideas, build friendships, and grow as learners. Education Week is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the dedication of our teachers and staff, the enthusiasm of our students, and the ongoing support of our families and the community.
Thank you to everyone who helps make Evergreen such a vibrant and caring place to learn.
Welcome Ms. Tatla: We are pleased to welcome Ms. Jaskarndeep Tatla to the Evergreen teaching team. Evergreen School has received Classroom Complexity Team (CCT) funding from Alberta Education and Childcare and the Calgary Board of Education to support additional staffing for our school community. This funding helps schools respond to increasing classroom complexity and ensure students receive the support they need for both learning and well-being. Ms. Tatla was hired with this funding.
