As we reflect on this reporting period, one of the most valuable opportunities you have is to review your child’s report card with them. This process is not just about grades; it’s about understanding your child’s progress and ensuring that they have the support they need to continue growing academically and personally.
Please see the tutorial linked on how to access your child’s digital report card in your MyCBE Account.

I encourage you to take time to sit down with your child and go over their report card in a positive, encouraging way. Your involvement in this conversation can make a significant difference in your child's attitude towards learning and their sense of responsibility. It’s important to celebrate their successes, no matter how big or small, and help them identify areas where they may need additional support.
Here are a few questions you might consider asking your child as you review their report card:
- How do you feel about your report card this term?
This question allows your child to reflect on their own feelings about their progress and opens the door for a deeper conversation. - What subjects or projects are you most proud of?
Acknowledging the areas where they’ve excelled can help boost their confidence and motivation. - Were there any subjects or assignments that you found challenging? What do you think made them difficult?
This will help you and your child identify any obstacles they encountered and discuss ways to overcome them. - What do you think you could do differently to improve in subjects where you're struggling?
Encouraging your child to think about solutions helps foster a growth mindset and shows them that they have control over their improvement. - Is there anything you need from me or the school to help you be more successful?
This lets your child know that they are supported both at home and at school, and that you’re there to work together in helping them succeed.
As we continue to work together, it’s important to remember that each child’s journey is unique. Our goal is to support them in developing not just academic skills, but also resilience, curiosity, and confidence in their ability to grow and improve. Your involvement and encouragement play a key role in their success, and I am grateful for your partnership.
Thank you for your ongoing support. I look forward to seeing continued growth and success for all of our students this year.
Sincerely,
Angela McPhee
